FAQ

Q1: WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO HAVE MY DOG GROOMED, BOARDED, OR DAYCARE? 

You must bring and provide us with proof of up to date vaccinations: Rabies, distemper, and bordetella

       N.Y. ADC. LAW § 17-366 : NY Code – Section 17-366:

​

“No dog shall be accepted at a boarding kennel, business or establishment unless the owner of such dog provides proof to such facility, including but not limited to a health certificate, a bill or receipt from a veterinarian or other documentation acceptable to the department, that such animal has been vaccinated against rabies, distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvo during the previous three years and against Bordetella during the previous six months;”

Q2: HOW OLD DOES MY DOG HAVE TO BE?

All dogs must be at least 4 months old and up and all dogs must be spayed or neutered.

Q3: WHAT TIME CAN I DROP OFF AND PICK UP MY DOG?

Special requests such as early drop off or late pick up is available but please call the store for details.

Q4: WHAT SHOULD MY DOG BRING?

A boarding dog must bring food of their own. You may bring pet beds, blankets and/or toys. Please do not bring anything uniquely valuable because sometimes things may be damaged or lost. All personal items should be washable and labeled with your dog’s name. Day care dogs generally do not need personal items.

Q6: WHAT DOES MY DOG DO ALL DAY?

Boarding and day care dogs spend time playing with dogs of similar size and temperament in play area. Your dog eats, drinks and sleeps separately. For large breed dogs, additional walks may be arranged for $4 per walk.

Q7: WHERE DOES MY DOG SLEEP? 

Dogs have their own private suite, not a cage, overnight.
If you want to make your dog feel more at home you can bring your dogs’ favorite bed or blanket to make them feel more comfortable.

Q8: CAN I CHECK ON MY DOG DURING A STAY? IF SO, HOW DO I DO THAT?

You can also see your dog playing with other dogs in the daycare at our webcam on our website at www.petstoryonline.com

Q9: WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY?

Our standard policy is to make every effort to contact you. We will seek medical attention, when necessary, first from your regular veterinarian, then from a trusted local veterinarian or twenty-four hour Vet Hospital. We will continually attempt to contact you and your emergency contacts with updates. Please make sure that your contact information is current and correct.

Q10: CAN I STOP IN FOR A TOUR?

Yes! Come in, say hello and check out our facilities between the hours of 11:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
